Hello again from Carnival HQ

“The road to success is always under construction”

(Lily Tomlin)

The Carnival Committee share the disappointment and frustration of the latest government announcement but fully appreciate the reasoning behind it. However, we are still planning to deliver a full blown Carnival and Festival throughout August culminating in our Procession Day on Saturday 4th September.

We will be working closely with our local authority, Wiltshire, and following the government’s guidelines, in order to ensure that our programme of events can be safely delivered. The government has set 19th July as decision day with respect to what can and cannot be allowed in terms of festival activities and that will be our date for deciding how much of our planned programme can safely go ahead. Tickets will go on sale at that point.

These dates still apply

Open Gardens……………………..Sunday 1st August
Petticoat Lane……………………..Sunday 29th August
Music in the Cloisters……………Monday 30th August
Procession……………………………Saturday 4th September

Our full programme of events will be on the website soon and the Committee will be at the Market Cross on Saturdays 10th and 24th July with lots more information and hopefully answers to any questions you may have.

And remember...

Carnival is run by the community for the community and depends entirely upon the work of volunteers to ensure its success as both a community event and as a means of raising funds for all our local organisations and charities.

Carnival needs volunteers to make it happen

A big thank you to those who have already volunteered, we look forward to more of you joining the team soon
